FAMILY EDUCATION DAYS
Offering educational programs for learners of all ages, we celebrate Jewish holidays, seasons, history and culture as part of regularly scheduled Family Education Days with hands-on learning events involving the whole congregational community, young and old alike. Our approach integrates formal study of practices and rituals with artistic expression exploring the sights, sounds, and tastes of each season, as well as the rich history and culture of our people. There is always a charge for expenses and materials.
Our first Family Education Day took place Saturday, August 30th with Shabbat service, Torah Study, Picnic and Workshop. The theme of the day was Creating Holy Space Part I – The Tapestry of Worship. Each member of the congregation designed a patch which will be assembled into a quilt to be used to cover our Torah at services and ultimately become the curtain for our ark. The quilt will be reversible with a rainbow of colors on one side for the whole year and shades of white in honor of the High Holy Days.
