For
students in grades 7-12, we offer several educational opportunities
to foster strong Jewish values in our young adults, as they learn
to participate in and contribute to the congregational community
as well as the community at large. This includes acting as madrichim – mentor-aides – who
assist both students and teachers in the classroom, playing an active
role in the social action efforts of Congregation Shir Ami.
As part of our teen program, SATs – Shir Ami Teens – will meet monthly
for social and educational events with a Jewish spin. All members of SATs will
be invited to lead services during the Festival of Shavuot in the spring of each
year as reminder of the Giving of the Ten Commandments at Mt. Sinai, and an opportunity
for each new generation of Jewish adults to accept the gift of Torah.
