Shir Ami is a warm and welcoming Reform Jewish congregation with Torah at the center. We embrace our heritage while creating new ways to bring us closer to each other and God through acts of worship, caring, learning, giving, singing and celebrating together.

Given all that's unfolding in the world, last year
Rabbi David selected
love as Shir Ami's theme.
This year (5786), Rabbi David adds strength
because we're #StrongerTogether.

Come see love and strength together at Shir Ami.

The Journey to 5787 Begins
Picture
July 23, 2026 • 7:00pm
Tisha b'Av began as a sacred memorial to Rome's destruction of the Second Temple in the year 70 C.E.  Over the next 20 centuries, Tisha b'Av came to stand for the many destructions and losses of Jewish life.

To moderns, Tisha b'Av also is the entrance gate into the High Holy Day season, rebirthing hope and resilience. With humility and courage, we will touch darkness (our own and the world's) – then catapult into our seven-week ascent to Rosh Hashanah 5787.

Runway to High Holy Days 5787
Picture
Starting July 28, 2026 • 7:00pm
Join Shir Ami's R. David Markus and CBI-Berkshires' R. Rachel Barenblat for our third annual joint runway series, preparing heart and soul for the High Holy Days journey of inner transformation.

This year we'll delve into the core liturgy's spiritual imagery, exploring the emotions that
Avinu Malkeinu, Kol Nidre, Unetaneh Tokef, Psalm 27, Neilah and other image-based liturgies rouse in us to deepen our experience of the season.

Starting October 6, 2026
Shir Ami is excited to launch our community's Book Club after the upcoming High Holy Days.

Over coffee and conversation, we'll explore extraordinary modern writers and their cutting-edge perspectives on Jewish life, belonging and identity, ethics and culture, loss and love.

Themed to the third anniversary of October 7,
our first selection will be Rachel Goldberg-Polin's bestseller,
When We See You Again.

Members only.  Zoom option for out-of-towners.
Facilitated by Wendy Nadel and Joan Green.
Stay tuned for registration.
