Host a Friday Oneg or Saturday Kiddush
Picture

In Person Services:
Members of Shir Ami are asked to perform the mitzvah of hosting an Oneg following a Friday night Shabbat Service, Havdalah Service or a Kiddush Luncheon following a Shabbat Morning Service in memory of a loved one or in honor of a special occasion (B/Mitzvah, Anniversary, Birthday), or just because. The host family is asked to arrive 45 minutes before the start of the service to set-up all the goodies and stay to the end to clean up, and take home all leftover food, beverages, and serving pieces.  The host family will be invited to light the candles and participate in the blessings over the wine and challah.
For more specifics about what to do when hosting an in-person service, click on the appropriate pdf below.

Zoom Services:  In lieu of providing an oneg, online hosts are invited to light the candles and participate in the blessings over the wine and challah via Zoom. You are welcome to, but not required, to make a donation to one of Shir Ami's funds in memory of a loved one or in honor of a special occasion.  A copy of the blessings is provided below.
