Where and When: NEW location at Tod’s Point in Old Greenwich – on the beach, near 2nd (main) concession stand: We will be gathering at 6 PM at the Beach and the Havdallah Service will begin at 7 PM, followed by a brief ceremony to thank our outgoing Board Officers and install the new Officers in this beautiful spot. We are praying for good weather but in case of rain, the service and ceremony will be held on Zoom beginning at 7 PM. (All those who are registered will receive an email if rain interferes). The list of names will be at the gatehouse by 5:00 PM so if you would like to come a little earlier and go for a swim or a walk, feel free to do so.
For those who plan to attend via Zoom or just in case of rain (which it won't!):

Getting through the Gatehouse: When you drive through the Tod's Point gatehouse, tell them that you are attending the Congregation Shir Ami event and that your name is on the list they have. If they ask you if you know where you are going just say YES (we aren’t in the exact spot that they list on their application form but that is OK).
How to find us - Park your car close to the 2nd or Main Concession Stand and follow the path that goes past the concession stand and bathrooms about 100 steps and turn left onto the beach where there is an opening in the fence. We will be there.
(If you aren't familiar with Tod's Point, after going through the gatehouse, pass the first parking lot on the right and drive to the next left turn where you'll see a small sign that says "Main Concession Stand". Turn left there and follow the road through the parking lot towards the Concession Stand which you'll be able to see in front of you.) Park and walk over to the concession stand. When you are standing on the path with the concession stand and bathrooms on your right and the flagpole and beach to your left, follow the flat path in front of you about 100 steps and you’ll see an opening in the fence to the beach on your left. That is where we will gather. This spot has both shade and sun so you can choose what you prefer.
Regarding Safety: As a congregational community, we have the obligation to help every congregant and our clergy to be and feel secure, safe and remain healthy. We will offer a Zoom option for anyone who does not feel comfortable coming in person. For everyone’s safety, if you are not feeling well or believe you have been exposed to someone who is ill, you should attend via Zoom. We realize that many of you are getting together with friends and family without any restrictions (mask-less, hugs and kisses, sharing food, etc) but as a congregation we have to be more cautious. Here are our rules at this time.
For outdoor in-person events: Non vaccinated people must wear masks at all times. We ask that everyone bring a mask to use when/if needed and respect appropriate social distancing. We also ask everyone to refrain from hugs and kisses. If you like you may bring your own picnic dinner food/drinks – no food sharing please.
For indoor in-person events: We are working on having indoor in-person High Holy Day Services in September with a Zoom option for those who cannot or opt not to come in person. We will require that those who come for indoor services are fully vaccinated. More info will be available about this when we get closer to September.
What to bring: You do not need any handouts or prayer books. Bring your own beach chairs or blankets, as well as any food and drinks that you would like to have. As mentioned above, we will not be sharing food.
If you know anyone else who would like to come, they may Click here to register no later than 3 PM on Saturday.
